Isnt it crazy to think that we are only weeks away from being off the big day you either love or hate Christmas. With Bells ringing, people singing, and a shifty looking character like Santa clause. People will be rushing in force to buy that famous unwanted gift, place it on that unwanted credit card and then hopefully loose the unwanted bill. In some cases people will just not offer gifts and give donations to a worthy cause, but most wont.

This year darlings I taking a new step, Im making each and every gift, I have delved out of my pandora’s box and found left over bits and pieces and suddenly, whallla, Im a instant Tania Todman. To make my effort so much more easily I have adopted two friends, well actually three, Two are people from china – still waiting for me to hand back there visa’s and the other is the well known book of “Better Homes and Gardens”. Its amazing what you can create when you waive a rice grain under a chinese persons nose.

Yes we have been decopaging, cutting, scraping and boiling all in the name of making something more wonderful then last years decorations from Westfield Shopping Centre. So far I have managed with my friends help (“get back to it you bastards”) – 0ops sorry! three gorgeous scrap books with all my fantastic, brilliant and wonderful photos of me covered in real acrylic sequins, so all the family can have me. This is to match the tea light candle holders with a decopage of me and not to forget the table placement made of apples with a star on top and my face embossed on it.

See just a few nails and bag of rice and its done in minutes.

Now darlings if you are buying a gift or making a gift find some heart in it like myself, dont buy china instead darlings bring china with you, its affordable and its Australian.

Till next week, pop off the “Taxi Club” for me and put in a dollar in a machine, there on the brink of going broke. No Joke

Talk soon Love

Sandy

Sell out and Stand Up

Hello darlings,

Can you believe that my show at the Taxi Club this Saturday night has been sold out. Last night as I dropped in to check out all the final preparations it actually brought me back to when I first started doing cabaret. The guys that now own and run the Divines Resteraunt are going to great lengths to make sure that nothing is going to be spared.
Not only is the venue space already lovely with all the local art work and plush surroundings but it will be bedazzled with tablecloths and glamour surroundings. I know can you believe that once a major home of Drag is putting it back to its community. This is Sydney’s only major club that has been apart of the Glbt and especially transgender community and its working harder to get back its clientele in a big way.
Once upon a time every venue when they had something special on would always do something to make it there’s, and this includes the dance bars and clubs, If they were having a theme all the heart and soul would be poured in to not just the atmosphere but also the surroundings.
I’m not sure where this all ended but I hope as things on the Gay strip get worse it will make venues work harder to get the Gay dollar.
Well one thing that I can guarantee as I walked home down the main street of oxford st scared out of my wits as patrons on the side of the road whisper faggot under there breaths I do hope that our community stand up again and become one, twinks, bears, mums and daddies, If we want to own our space we have to make it ours, glits, glam and tablecloths is a start, and just being a community, we will win.

Until next week darlings
Take care
Love Sandy B

In Da Taxi Club (and other issues)

Afternoon Darlings, After deciding to head out for the night, which then travelled onto the weekend, which then is still travelling inside my head darlings, I have decided to give my liver a rest for a couple of days. Is it not my fault that my friends give me the urge to drink, I can not do anything about these misfortunes and just have to get on with my life in a social manner but only drinking tea and water. As I lie awake from my overdose of lovelly red bottles of drink from a harbour cruise around sydney, ohh and the bottle of champaine, ohhh and the vodka on the rocks, ahhh and the cold beer on a sunny day. I release I do have a problem darlings, I obviously cant hold my liquor, I used to double that and now look at me a washed up old cardigan from the salvos darling. Once it was a gorgious piece of cardboard and the disco would go off, now its a glass of bubbly and im a toliet smouldering, floor hugging mess. So as I type this informal notice to all avid friends who think that feeding Sandy too much alchol and avoiding drugs, I say thankyou from both my liver and my aching head. I now will go through a very rigorious program of just drinking this herbal crap mixed with a little toddy of brandy… ooops I mean honey and wash all my sins away.. Lets hope there is a big drain darlings!!

The plug..
